Iowa’s manure problem, explained

The number of CAFOs in Iowa has increased by 13% over the past six years.

A new report by EWG found that Iowa livestock farms generate over 100 million tons of manure each year. It’s a mounting problem as the state grapples with water pollution and disproportionately high cancer rates.
